Activated charcoal shouldn’t be overused in any potting mix as apart from cleansing and withdrawing toxins, it can also withdraw valuable nutrients from the soil. The general suggestion is to use 5-10% activated charcoal in a potting mix. This means, that 250ml activatel charcoal is enough for a 2-5-5L potting mix.
Activated charcoal is another great additive to any potting mix as it keeps bacteria and fungal infections controlled. Can be used both indoors and outdoors. Activated charcoal harcoal is especially useful for any aroid potting mix.
